Experiment no. 3

  • L3.1 Name:

  • ARM Cortex M0 / 3 - power of LED

  • E3.1 Overview, purpose.

  • The experiment aims to show an example of an application that can control a high power AC motor through an ARM Cortex M0 / 3 processor platform. DAVE resources are explored to activate multiple programs that can be run on the XMC 1100 Boot Kit and XMC2GO. At the end of the laboratory, there will be relevant information about how to insert control systems into power installations by attaching galvanic separation modules using light as a data transfer medium.

  • E3.3 Resources:

  • - XMC1100 development platform, microUSB cable
    - ByteDisplay
    extension - AC motor extension

  • L3.4 Prototype Sources:

  • Program prototip tratare intreruperi externe

    Program activare motor AC

    Program utilizare DAVE SYSTIMER

  • E3.5 Mod de desfasurare/urmarire experiment:

    • Analizati schema extensiei ByteDisplay pentru XMC1100 Boot kit prezentata in figura de mai jos:
      center>
    • Analizati extensia pentru actionarea motoarelor de curent alternativ pentru XMC Bootkit prezentata in figura urmatoare:

    • Analizati extensia pentru actionarea motoarelor de curent alternativ dezvoltata pentru platforma XMC2Go reprezentata in figura urmatoare:

    • Analizati documentatia tehnica a optotriacului Siemns V2317;
    • Analizati modul de interfare a motorului de curent alternativ la platforma XMC1100 Bootkit ;
    • Explorati principiile de functionare a dispozitivelor de tip optotriac;
    • Connect the ByteDisplay interface with the AC motor extension to the XMC1100 Boot Kit;
    • Insert the DAVE component PIN_INTERRUPT_x and analyze the configuration parameters

    • Insert the DAVE SYSTIMER component and explore how it works;

    • Build projects with prototype programs and track execution by identifying the use of PIN_INTERRUPT and SYSTIMER;

  • L3.6 Proposed Issues:

  • 1. Make a program that will act for 2 sec. the CA engine when you press the k switch on the ByteDisplay extension;

    2. Make a program that will activate the motor after 2 .. successive presses of the k switch;

    3. Create a program that will display ByteDisaply a counter and will act for 0.5 seconds on the CA engine at 0x0F;

    4. Perform a program that will activate the CA engine at 2 second intervals for 0.5 seconds;
    5. Create an application that will highlight the simultaneous execution of 3 programs on the XMC.

  • L3.7 The experiment may be extended to:

  • - Developing the Make Faire universe ;
    - Achievement of industrial installations driven by AC motors;
    - Achieving intelligent actuators;
    - Developing lighting systems;
