  • E5.1 Overview, purpose.


  • The experiment shows an interface between PC and Infienon ARM XMC development platforms using the RS232v protocol. You are exploring the involved UART modules, associated DAVE components, and how to make communication programs. At the end of the alterator there will be detailed information about how to implement an RS232V protocol communication protocol between the PC using Terminal emulator and XMC2Go / Boot Kit.

  • - XMC1100 development platform, microUSB cable;
    - RS232 extension, serial cable Com;
    - PC with TeraTerm application ;

  • E4.5 Mod de desfasurare/urmarire experiment:

    • Analizati schema extensiei pentru comunicatii seriale cu protocol RS232 reprezentata in figura urmatoare:


    • Analizati schema platformei XMC2Go si identificati alocarea pinilor pentru comunicatii seriale asincrone;
    • Analizati schema platformei XMC1100 Boot Kit si identificati alocarea pinilor pentru comunicatii seriale conform Arduino Shield ;

    • Analizati documentatia tehnica a circuitului MAX 3232;



    • Instalati emulatorul de terminal TeraTerm;
    • Realizati proiecte cu programele prototip si urmariti executia identificand utilizarea componntelor Infineon DAVE pentru comunicatii seriale asincrone;


  • L4.6 Probleme propuse:


  • 1. Make a program sequence that outputs to the PC an ASCII character whenever the microswitch K in the serial extension scheme is pressed;
    2. Make a program sequence that will output to the PC the character code involved in xon-xoff transmissions;
    3. Make a program sequence that will send to the PC the message
    "devloper@ind.edu success with ARM Cortex";
    4. Realizati un program care va emite in bucla infinita un carcater prin intermediul interfetei seriale. Evidentiati cu osciloscopul caracterul emis;
    5. Realizati un program care va permite tranmisia unui caracter la cea mai mica viteza specificata de protocolul RS232.


  • L5.7 Experimentul poate fi extins pentru:


  • - Realizare echipamente IOT controlabile prin interfete seriale;
    - Realizarea periferice pentru computere;
    - Realizarea noduri active conectate in retele;
    - Realizarea instrumentatiei inteligente;
    - Dezvoltare solutii pentru Visible Light Communication;
