Laboratory work no. 12

  • L12.1 Name:

  • dsPIC33 Active LCD Tuch Finger

  • L12.2 Overview, purpose.

  • The paper aims to offer a version of a M2M (Machine to Machine) communication interface using a touch sensitive LCD and an "artificial finger" system. At the end of the lab, detailed information will be provided on how to achieve the devices that can activate touch sensitive surfaces.

  • L12.3 Resources:

  • DsPIC DSC Starter Kit development system, 3-axis servo extension, HTC Shift.

  • L12.4 Program example:

  • Active arm control

  • L9.5 Experiment Run / Tracking Mode:

  • Analyze the interconnection scheme of the servomotors at the dsPIC DSC development platform shown below:

  • Examine the demo software modules;
  • Identify the sensitive active surface on HTC Shift;
  • Analyze the touchscreen keyboard simulation application;
  • Solve the proposed problems;

  • L12.6 Proposed Issues:

  • 1. Perform a program sequence that will allow you to extract the information for calibration of the active pointer position of the arm;

    2. Make a program that will locate the LCD screen corners from HTC;

    3. Modify the prototype program so that the key is activated ;

    4. Make a program sequence that will activate the keys
    5. Make a program sequence that activates the "1 DEC 2008"

  • L12.6 The experiment may be extended to:

  • - Achieving 3D positioning systems;
    - Making touch sensitive interfaces;
    - Achievement of "artificial finger" systems for iPhone;

  • L12.7 Documentary references:
